Flight SV119 diverts to Cairo following medical emergency on board
JEDDAH, June 26, 2025 — A senior cabin crew member of Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) passed away during a scheduled international flight from Jeddah to London Heathrow, prompting an emergency diversion to Cairo. The airline has confirmed that Cabin Manager Mohsen bin Saeed Alzahrani suffered a sudden and serious medical episode mid-flight while on duty aboard Flight SV119.
Despite immediate assistance by crew and onboard medical personnel, Alzahrani was pronounced dead upon arrival at Cairo International Airport. The airline expressed deep sorrow over his loss, describing the event as “a tragic moment” for the Saudia family.
In a statement, Saudia paid tribute to Alzahrani’s years of dedicated service. “He was known for his professionalism, integrity, and commitment to his work. His loss is deeply felt by all of us,” the airline stated.
